App connect on Polo TSI

Post by vona03 »

Hi all,

Can someone please help? I've just gotten app connect installed on my radio but when I try to connect my device via android auto, I get the following message: no data received. Check the setting on the mobile device and the connection. How do I get rid of this and get this thing to work??

Hi sorry I can't help with this except from the YouTube I have seen it is not a straight forward plugin there are some other settings to make.

I did want to ask what it cost you to get it enabled. I want to do it for my Clubsport but hear it is expensive

Its supposed to be like 4k but I had the dealership do it for free coz they sold the car apparently with app connect. Now we get it back and it doesn't work. Bit annoying. No idea how to get it to work. Thanks for the response.

Did your car come spec with with the upgraded facility?

If yes make sure your device is compatible.

If no , they you dont have the licence as it was not activated at plant.

Took 2 years to get Mirrorlink sorted as it was not sold when i got mine but mine had it specified, two years to get it to work as it was not updated for new phones.

Then you don't have the it , it will need activation from vw and you'll will have to buy the license, having the option there is not the whole program, same as Audi showing nav on non nav models, it will ask you for the activation.

Some polls show it in the menu others don't , but if it is not on build sheet you can't get it without buying the activation sd card.

I had zero issues connecting my iPhone to my Golf using App Connect, other than it being a largely redundant and inferior system when compared to simply using Bluetooth.

I had purchased my car with app connect which they charged me about 1K for on the extras list and i have no issues connecting my phone to it, so it probably needs coding to activate it.

Yeah I understand that but everything that is required for it is on the unit. Why not just activate it rather than lock it behind a code. That is the kind of thing people remember when they look for their next car.

I have a 6c gti n I was told I need an activation code and a specific usb cable which the dealership apparently did not have stock of so I used a lightning usb and android auto apk to get it working it's a bit of a process to get to but it works

Not to sure what you mean lightning USB. Lightning is apple, android is mini c. My car, GTI Clubsport is definately asking for a code when I select it.

As long as you have App Connect, goggle Andriod Auto APK, choose from Andriod Mirror website, choose latest version, choose ARM64 option..download.
Run exe, Open Andriod Auto on phone, connect to usb in car, open App connect and follow instructions....Bobs your uncle....works like a charm ..

Hi,
I am from India and owns a Polo Sedan. I have RCD 330G but without app connect option. Are you talking about RCD 330G here? How can I get the firmware that supports app connect? Its not available in India yet but I came to know that its available in your country.

Thanks in advance!

Page 3 of the brochure of Polo Sedan in SA states that it comes with RCD 300G (same as the Indian model) but with app connect feature. Have a look at page 3 of the brochure (for some reason I am not able to add the attachment).
