I wanted to do a D/P as well. But VW still cant pick up the prob with my car. Gave a friend who has the same car as mine, still stock.
He felt the lag and power loss. I drove his car and there is a big diffrance...
Some guys are lucky..Mods or no mods and their car is fine...Now i dont think i wana do the d/p..just incase something goes wrong and VW wont pay for repairs...

Do you mind explaining your comment? R144 vs R4000+ for new unit. Are these MDI interfaces crap?

R144 is for the cable only that plugs into the mdi unit, the mdi unit has to be purchased separately which then connects to the back of your stock head unit..the mdi unit itself sits in the glovebox and has a port to plug different types of cables into, cost of the mdi unit is aprox R2500(in the polo 6r there is a cutout in the glovebox to retrofit a mdi )

Personally i would get a oem delphi rcd510(R2500 from a company called everything and more) and then a yellow to green usb cable aswell as a usb port from a polo 6c(goes in the cutout next to the cigerate lighter port closest to drivers side and looks the same as aux port)..total cost should be around R3000 and you'll have a touch screen head unit with usb instead of just a mdi and stock rcd310

I have this noise that recently started. Don't know exactly what causes it or how to recreate it.

View My Video

It's coming from right underneath the engine cover. Anybody experienced it before?

Theo R, thanks. Think I will take my car in for someone to check. The problem is that it appears sporadically. But it's very similar to this:

https://youtu.be/vbfIH05w66I

The guys are talking bout the tension of the timing chain. Is it something serious that I'll have to look into immediately or can I wait when I take it in for the 60 000km service which is about 1500km still to go?

Hay Angiez.

If its the timing chain, that needs to be done ASAP. I think you should just take the car in to v.w.
It could be something small.

gents and ladies,

curious what your cold start up consumption is? when i start my car up in the morning from a cold start she Idles at 3.2-3.3 L/h then when the choke calms down it goes back to the normal 0.9 L/H

when the car is warm it idles at about 0.6- 0.7 L/H

issues or am i paranoid? as i remember she used to idle at start at 1.2- 1.3 L/H and now it just seems like it's gradually getting more...

I've got 17's with fk coilies and haven't had any issues. I've heard of guys having a hard ride with 18's.
Not too sure on the arm rest, best bet would be to find out from VW

Update: Had the car on VCDS at a local tuner, error code returned was: "CMP Sensor (G40) / Engine speed sensor (G28)
Incorrect correlation"

VW found out that it had something to do with my alternator / timing chain tensioner. They replaced both under warranty. Noise is gone, will keep a close eye on it though.
