9n3 ABS warning light

Post by xion »

Had the same thing happen to me, tried checking the battery fuses they all checked out fine..and nada it kept happening then Morne checked it out for me and worked some magic and i dont get the warnings anymore!

I also changed by battery because there where some voltage errors on the ecu at the same time as the abs light

Could be a fualty wheel speed sensor that read wrong for a bit.
If the handbrake light came on then check brake fluid level. The handbrake and abs light dont always come on at the same time if there is error on the abs , only abs light comes on most of the time.

hi gents

i did check the brake fluid and it was fine
didnt have any warning lights this morning
if it is a faulty speed sensor any ideas of what that cost's

i did hit a speed bump a bit hard yesterday was driving on the same road as i normally do to fetch my SO i was doing about 30 as i just took of from a stop street and then bang!!! that speed bump wasnt there in the morning. it was in the shadow of a huge tree
and wasnt painted yet. could that have caused the speed sensor to go faulty

Replaced mind and cost me R350.00, but depends on where you go. Do you feel as if the abs is engaging on the peddle (brake peddle kicking back on you)

drive at around 60km/h and slam your foot as hard as possible, your pedal will automatically adjust back and forth, this means the ABS is working.

ps. please wear your seat belt and do this on an empty private enclosed race track

I do not take responsibility for cracked windscreens sore heads or skid towards the pavement now damaged crap.

Hi All

i need your help, After my car came back from its 165000KM service the abs and brake light came on, with 3 warning beeps. Then it was like the car was loosing power. I am then forced to switch the car off and then the car does some reset and then it is fine for 2 days. This has been happening for 3 weeks now... the car has been sent back to Barons 3 times, and they cannot find the problem.

The below has been checked.
Brake fluid
Fuses
Battery.

I don't know what to do anymore.. Please help

your assistance is highly appreciated

Look here for similar.....

Lots of possible causes, also read could be earthing issue or battery on way out. Check those.....

Aiy- I came here looking for solutions .. I am having a similar issue

3 beeps on ignition
Flashing power steering light
Abs light
ESP light

Gonna check fuses on the battery, earthing, then if still fails get it scanned
Recently changed the downpipe, a day after that the problem came about.

On the day which we changed the downpipe, I heard beeps come on for a little bit but no lights on the Dash...only the next day the lights popped up.

Try the battery disconnect. Read somewhere dude had similar issues, and did a hard disconnect / reset and sorted issues.

So let me get this right, So I understand it.

You have multiple warning indicators lit up on your dashboard, non functional power steering AND the EPC light - and you're still driving around months later like this?

EPC (Electronic Power Control) is linked to multiple systems in your vehicle, given that you are experiencing misfiring I was assume you have an issue with your throttlebody, throttle pedal or a multitude of other engine components.

If I was you I would take that car straight to a dealer right now and get it looked at.

Hint for next time, when the EPC light comes on - stop driving around unless its on your way to the dealer/service centre.

The EPC light only came on last week

but the car has been parked off for about 3 weeks before that.
Ive read somewhere that it could be the EPC light sensor and that it needs to be cleaned and sprayed with WD40
ive done that and everything seems to be fine but the rest of the lights are still on

I have scanned it and they tried taking clearing the errors but this has not gone away.

Yes but what were the error codes, no point in just clearing codes when they actually tell you what the issue is.
