Try taking the bolts out of the con links (drop links) before jacking the car up - makes life easier this way. Also you can fit and remove them without taking the wheel off. And don't take the car all the way up - just enough to loosen the drop link from the two bolts. It pops off easy like this..

I have stock 15's - so there is plenty room. My bad!

Went to GolfWagen today for the 2 conlinks and ....... no stock
Went to Midas to find out only that they dont have stock aswell :bang: :bang:

Ordered them from Midas so they will be here tomorrow in the afternoon so they will only get fitted on Thursday :bang:

I am so tired of my car sounding like an old beetle everytime I make a turn !!!

Got them for R120 each from Midas :cool:

So I couldnt get stock from Midas so I ended up buying them for R180 each .....

Easy fit I must admit , BUT now afterwords something else is wong .... its way worse than before :bang: :bang: :bang:

When I drive and i just put the car in neutral to free , theres a CONSTANT knocking sound .....

Did you tighten bolts properly and while the car was on the jack?

Edit: does it only knock when in numeral? or also while in gear?

To check if LCA bushes are wacked, park car, try to roll the front wheel forward and backwards with your hands. It should be stiff and in place. If it has excessive play, replace bushes.

so i also replaced my conlink, the noise is alot less but im still getting the same noise at times so it must be something else too..
i did notice the ball guide joint looks a little bent, is that normal?

So I got my car fixed today ..... When you tighten the bolt on the stabalizer , theres a screw inside of the bolt that you need to tighten aswell to secure it :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

I never tighten that screw - I just made sure the bolts were tight...

Picking up the same noise on my polo
Does anybody knw of any mechanics /Garage that i can take it to get it checked up.

Did take it to a couple of guys but they couldnt figure out wat it is.

Mechanic in Durban??????

get the drop links from GW and fit it yourself doesnt take too long and its only 2 bolts and remember to tighten the two screws as well

Mine are also tight and the noise is by far less but its still there, so saturday morning im having a one on one with the droplinks :evil:
