How would you get in there without taking of the wheel ?? 18's is big bro !!!!Tander wrote:Rather replace both while you at it bud. I made the mistake of just replacing one (Left side) and issue was still there. Replaced right side and no more noise!
Try taking the bolts out of the con links (drop links) before jacking the car up - makes life easier this way. Also you can fit and remove them without taking the wheel off. And don't take the car all the way up - just enough to loosen the drop link from the two bolts. It pops off easy like this..
15 mins per side and you done!
No problem bud !! Thanx for the helpTander wrote:Oh in that case take the wheel off - lol
I have stock 15's - so there is plenty room. My bad!
Tander wrote:Decent price. Loving the silence now!
Let us know how you get on
Yes I did tighten them propperly ......... The new noise is comming more from the middle and not where the conlinks is situatedTander wrote:Did you tighten bolts properly and while the car was on the jack?
Its quieter out of gear then i can hear it ...... smooth surface buddyTander wrote:While you're in gear, too or only out of gear? also - over smooth roads or only bumpy roads?

I've noticed that these drop links are real buggers to get out of the strut... One way of getting them out more easily is to get someone to turn the cars' wheels so that the drop link just pops out. Might save someone out there some frustration

To check if LCA bushes are wacked, park car, try to roll the front wheel forward and backwards with your hands. It should be stiff and in place. If it has excessive play, replace bushes.Tander wrote:Replaced LCA bushes recently?1FlyTDI! wrote:The noise is still there bro Im not sure whats going on .....
