Re: power loss on 2l 8v

Post by Sabris »

Hey guys hope you are all well, I hope theres someone on this forum that has had and solved the following problem I'm experiencing

I recently fitted a 272cam to my 2l 8v caddy(running polocup and uni chip)
Herman from zwillinge performance tuned it and all was fine up until I heard a slight ping at 7000rpm

I went back for a check up but then we started having issues, starting pinging in all gears and ****
Tried replacing the knock sensor and it seemed to rid us of the pinging but then caddy lost all power from about 100kw to 62kw when it reached optimum temp

Herman went as far as doing a check on the harness, ecu and chip seemed fine but bakkie was still like earthing if I can put it that way, put in a new earth, cleared the map sensor etc etc, then she ran normal and then again boom low power.
Plugged it in and got a few errors 2 that kept coming back was the knock sensor and adaption limit not reached, intermittent
So Herman is gobsmacked and referred me to Allan

So please if anyone has encountered this and can advise I'd appreciate it

Thx
