Shorter muflaps for citi front wheels????

Post by mojo786 »

don't know if anybody else with a dropped citi has this problem, evry bump licks the mudflaps..
If only they were a bit shorter..even by 3-3.5cm shorter so it doesn't catch when going over obstacles..lol
Anybody know if its possible to get shorter mudflaps?

I'm looking for the same thing, I use to have mudflaps on my citi until i fitted the koni's, with the koni's the mudflaps was about 5mm off the ground, The smallest bump in the road and it would scrape.
luckily this was limited by the driveshaft hitting the chassis :bang: I had to take them off, Koni lifted my car 20mm and the mudflaps are still to long.

I prefer citis without mudflaps, re. looks, but mudflaps are better than stonechips on the doors. I was tempted to cut mine but i think it will look k@k.

Of course it's the mudflap being to long - not your car being too low....

I was thinking of getting a 2nd hand set for the front and chopping 40mm out the centre of the flap and plastic weld it back and then spray it satin\matte black to hide the joint. im just scared it'll break loose and look like an EPIC FAIL !!

The back mudflaps aren't such a big hassle, 'cos they have enough bend/flex in them to not scrape through within a few days/weeks. The front ones on the other hand are much more rigid (well mine were), so they really take a hammering...

I want to fit the front mudflaps again, and I was thinking of cutting them down about 5cm, and just making the whole mudflap smooth with some fine sanding paper (sanding plastic sucks monkeyballs :bang: ).

Who's going to be the guinea pig?
