Brake Pads for Golf 7 Tdi Highline DSG

Post by Gti3 »

Hi Guys

Can Anyone suggest good replacement pads for this car. I need to replace the front and rear. Goldwagen have SUREBRAKE - are these any good?

Does anyone know who the OE manufacturer is for my car? And where can i get these pads in Durban?

VW prices are way out, even the economy line is R1200+vat for the rears and they don''t economy line for the fronts.

I'd go to Midas or Autozone and ask them for ATE/Ferodo. They'll be more expensive than the Surebrake but (according to me) it's one area you shouldn't be skimping on.

Try to see if you can get Hella Pagid from Goldwagen.
Pagid was factory fitment on my Audi S4 and I had no complaints.

Went with the Surebrake, fitted them yesterday. No squeals or anything strange as yet. Will let them settle in a bit and report on brake feel etc

Update

The Surebrake pads are nice and quiet, no squeals or anything. They are however down on braking power as compared to the OEM pads I had fitted. I've done about 800kms on them so I assume they would have bedded down by now. A guesstimate would be that they have approximately 70-80% of the braking power of OEM pads.
