Hi everybody, have moved this from the new member introduction section.
2013 Audi S4 3.0 Supercharged. 147000kms.
From day 1 of putting downpipes i have an annoying ticking sound from firewall on drivers side inside the cabin. It sounds like a piece of cardboard put in bicycle spokes. You cannot hear it from outside, or in neutral when revving, it gets louder as you depress the accelerator, however if you just touching the accelerator at any revs there is no sound, even at 3000rpm, but as soon as you go past 1/4 accelerator and onward the sound is evident.
1st exhaust shop, it sounded like a tractor on day 1,undriveable, took it back next day, they say some nuts on manifold were loose, much better but still there. After 4 attempts I gave up with them.
2nd exhaust shop had new downpipes and x pipe muffler put in. The sound is still there. They think maybe gasket issue or cracked manifold.
I then took it to a specialist VW/Audi shop who found a small gap between manifold and downpipes they don't sit flush and put in 2 gaskets to close the gap, no difference made.
