Hi there.
I have a 2014 G7 GTI manual. It is now on 180000km. Any routine preventative maintenance/specific things to check for such high mileage that you would recommend? Or just continue routine services and check issues which may crop up?
Cheers
Will

Re: GTI 180000km maintenance
Just continue with your routine services, it got this far and will give you many more miles with good service. We have 2009 8P S3 manual with the same mileage as yours and its still going very well. All the best

Re: GTI 180000km maintenance
My 2015 MK7 GTi is now at +-168000 KM
No real issues (touch wood)
Other than an irritating driver side door rattle ,that I cant solve
I changed
-Front Shock mountings as that's a known issue on these cars
-End links are pretty worn
-Coolant reservoir, my original one was discoloured and did a coolant flush one time
-Brake Fluid flush
Going to do the Serprintine belt and tensioner soon with a regular service
Really awesome car if I could just sort out that rattle issue

Perhaps a loose regulator in the door??This used to be a common issue on isuzus lol..simple nip of the bolts sorted it out.AvesshenG wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 3:26 pm My 2015 MK7 GTi is now at +-168000 KM

Does anyone know when does the timing chain need to be done , Is there a specific Kilometre interval or is it as it gives issues (Gets noisy) ?
