DQ200 DSG 7 speed dry dsg box.
Hi. I recently just purchased a 2013 golf 7 tsi dsg comfort line has 126000km on the clock. Can anyone advise me on how to maintain my dsg gearbox as these are known to give issues as I’ve been told. Main issue being the mechatronics. If there is a way to avoid these issues please let me know or is it a ticking time bomb.

Great cars those tsi golfs are.
Hope you enjoy it.
Wrt to your query, I'd wont worry too much if you bought the car with FSH , SPARE KEYS and most importantly a warranty etc etc and from an owner whom took care of it because if the records show , your dsg gearbox should of been serviced properly by the agents ....
If not ,
Cross your fingers and enjoy it...lol.
Sorry If I didn't help at all.
Cheers

Re: DQ200 DSG 7 speed dry dsg box.
It does have FSH from VW but I’m yet to request the records to see what has been done and maintained up to now. Also I did enquire from a dsg specialist at Vagbox and they recommended a gearbox service at 150k Kms.

Re: DQ200 DSG 7 speed dry dsg box.
Do a DSG service regardless for peace of mind, check clutches on how much is worn to get an idea on how it was treated.
The DSG gearboxes are reliable if looked after, with the dry clutch you want to refrain from rolling the car and when stopped, refrain from inching forward or creeping forward and just stop until you can move off smoothly and shift into second. The most common problem with them is people inching forward or revving the car and the car ends up riding the clutch, wearing it down fast and warping the pressure plate.

Re: DQ200 DSG 7 speed dry dsg box.
Thanks for the advice. What I’ve done is put the e brake on auto hold so I avoid rolling forward or back once I can take off I basically just drive instead of like riding the clutch.

Re: DQ200 DSG 7 speed dry dsg box.
That is the right way, forgot that the Golfs have auto hold, the Polos are the ones suffering though with the manual handbrake. Wish you many more trouble free miles!

Re: DQ200 DSG 7 speed dry dsg box.
DQ200 doesn't have a service interval , it's normal manual gearbox oil in the transmission part and hydraulic in the mechatronic portion, these either leak or the clutch packs fail at random.Callum229 wrote:Do a DSG service regardless for peace of mind, check clutches on how much is worn to get an idea on how it was treated.

Re: DQ200 DSG 7 speed dry dsg box.
High mileage DSG boxes should always be serviced, oil degrades and separates and contaminates from the transmission like wear and tear will also be present.
No service interval or lifetime fluid for transmission always screws the consumer as it just prevents you from servicing the transmission and it just lasts about until the warranty is expired, then you screwed.
That is why, if you get a DSG, always service it for peace of mind. That way you less likely to get a mechatronic failure or solenoid failure and you taking out the contaminates in the oil especially if the car was driven hard or not looked after.

You will need VCDS.
