Golf MK5 GTI Stage 4 on stock internals

Post by Geekster »

Hi guys

I need some help and guidance with my new project. I'd like to upgrade and mod my daily drive golf 5 (BWA) to a stage 4 ecu upgrade with the following mods:

GT30 BILLET
HPFP upgrade
S3 injectors
PCV upgrade with catch can
RS4 valve
In tank LPFP upgrade
S3 intercooler
And maybe a wmi kit

All these mods will need to assist the stock internals to achieve 400whp and a good 1/4 mile time.

Can I get this power output without breaking my engine?

All comments (except those that aren't of any good use) welcome.

At the very least rods will be needed at that power level. There's a reason the stock K04 motors use beefier rods.

The s3 injectors will not make it to 400whp. Look at some rs4 units or 8v rs3 ones if your tuner can map them.

The s3 intercooler will also become a restriction at that power level. A 600x300x76 universal fmic will fit behind the bumper without too much hassel.

Thanks @Killerwatt.

That's the sort of advice I need. Could you tell me if I didn't change rods what's the safest but max power output I could achieve?

I was battling for a fmic size thanks for that. And since I'm reducing the power I want is a wmi kit necessary?
