Golf 7 GTI service query

Post by PlatelessMk7GTI »

My Golf 7 GTI is due for its 60000km service soon, I have an intake, downpipe and exhaust(no software). The car has a service and maintenance plan, do I need to remove the stated hardware when it goes for the service or can I take it as is? I just want to know if it will affect the service and maintenance plan if they see the hardware oww and the car does not have a warranty plan.

I suppose it depends where you take it.
I had an Intake and Downpipe on mine - no issues with services and warranty claims.

Best bet though is to remove but might get costly for every service with the exhaust

As per the suggestions above. Strictly speaking, you have modified the car, which tosses everything out of the window.

However, what will be of benefit is how well you know the dealer and the service staff. As these "modifications" do not really affect the engine that much, a dealer could perhaps accommodate this. If you have a good relationship with your servicing dealer, I would bounce this off them first and depending on the outcome, do what is necessary.

As everyone has mentioned, it depends on the dealer

I have downpipe and software on my Mk7 Gti and still under warranty and have maintenance plan.

I've had a warranty work done, it was replacing gear selector without hussle. But everyone that mod their cars should know that the dealer or VW have the right to void warranty as it's clearly stated on the agreement/contract
