Dual injection?

Really curious about this - I came across this document https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AB-Gg ... zWRw1irPcy, stating that the 162&169kw motors are running dual injection.

I tried seeking confirmation from a number of dealerships (ok, 3) but all I got "yes, it's direct injection or how did you get this document?"

Did we ever get these motors in SA?

Yes, all of the Golf 7/7.5 GTI/R/S3 motors run dual injection, with small (+-110 cc port injectors). On stock ECU mapping and most ECU tunes the port injection is only used at idle and light cruise, for carbon cleaning and emissions, with the injection mode switching from Port (MPI) to DI (HPDI)-only. With some fine-editing, the MPI injectors can be enabled under boost to supplement the DI fuelling. The MPI injectors can also be upgraded and scaled in to gain additional fuelling capacity.
