Golf 7 1.4?TSI Block Problems

Post by yusheem »

Good Morning.
I have a golf 7 1.4TSI. the car used a lot of oil so VW did an oil consumption test and it failed. as i have an extended warranty with hollard i took the car to an RMI approved workshop. they stripped the engine and found the 3rd and 4th pistons are fried and the block id worn out. we cannot find a second hand block as they are worn out also.
please could someone help us with a repair for my car.
Thanks

Where are you based? And are you looking at repairing privately or through your extended warranty?

Does the extended warranty cover the engine damage?
If yes, they must pay up and get you a new block/engine. Not second hand, new.

The Extended Warranty only covers engine damage up to R20000. Brand New Engine +-R120000.

How it played out on mine with same problem and to rebuild engine was going to cost alot and apparently it wasn't a long term solution as per vw mechanics. We got an import engine came after one week fitted in and car been fine ever since. Costs 35k for while job so maybe take 20k and add 15 maybe would be cheaper on your end import engines are around 20 to 25k and labor is the issue
