Hi Guys,
I was hoping someone could help identify what the possible cause of white smoke with burning oil smell is coming from my exhaust?
Symptoms: The car only smokes when it's on a decline i.e. going down a hill. Under load, no smoke, but if I'm rolling downhill, get to the bottom and take off again, clouds of smoke pour out through the exhaust.
Measures taken: Initially I suspected that it was the PCV valve that sits on the tappet cover. Replaced it and still smoke. Next was the suspicion that it may be turbo seals, so I had the turbo refurbed and fitted it on Friday (15 - Mar). The car is boosting a lot better so the turbo refurb has helped, however, the smoke still persists.
Possible causes: Could it be oil in the intercooler causing this? Or worst case scenario, valve stem seals.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Had a similar issue with my B6 - unfortunately I'm just another voice confirming your worst fears. It's not a ridiculously expensive job to replace valve stem seals, though.
