Good day gents,
So, was wondering about this, and would love to know what some of you guys are running ?
I currently have a custom Cold air Intake on my S3 8L, but for some reason I feel it ran better with the Cone Filter hooked up straight on the MAF
Its only on Cold days where it sounds really nice.
Also feels a bit laggy to me.
What other options are there, also which filters are best.
I have a K&N Cone.

Cone on MAF - tried and tested and logs speaks for itself.
Also makes the most epic noise's compared to the other options.

The only requirement is a non-oiled filter unless you like replacing mafs

Re: Air intake options for 1.8T
I had a fake k&n on for about a year. I cleaned it probably twice in that year. When I removed it the other day I saw the MAF had a thick brown dust/road debris layer on it. I then put the original airbox back. Cheap cone filters are not worth it IMO. If you really want a cone filter then get a proper one, one that actually filters the air and not just make your car sound cool

Focus ST filter fits straight on to MAF. Paper cone so its best for filtration.
Just secure it with a clamp.
