The Guide uses Oil presure to keep chain tensioned, seems like there is no oil presure.Mricco wrote: ↑Tue Apr 24, 2018 6:57 am Hi guys please help, a friend is fixing a 2010 audi A4 1.8t so he has done the timing nd fitted a new chain, guides as well as tensioner bt when he starts it it loosens the chain, what could be the problem? Check where the guide bolts to the head if the gasket is not blocked or the oil hole blocked.

So if it's not the oil pressure what else could it be?

Isn't it the tensioner that uses oil pressure?

Did he use the correct tools and the correct way to tension the chain. there is a certain sequence of events that you have to follow and you have to have the lock tools to that.
