Urgent assistance on G7 GTI heat gauge
Hi guys.
I'm posting this on behalf of a friend.
He has a 2013 G7 GTI DSG. He has an R600 intake, downpipe & software.
He recently fitted an intercooler and now the heat gauge goes up to 3/4 on the gauge on stop start driving (fan also kicks in). If he pulls over, and switches the car off and on - it immediately goes back to 90 degrees.
No affect in performance or anything... Does anybody know about this or experienced this??? Please advise asap. Thanks

Re: Urgent assistance on G7 GTI heat gauge
Maybe they messed up something by the radiator when they fitted the intercooler. Has he checked the temp sensor?

Re: Urgent assistance on G7 GTI heat gauge
He did take it to VW, they say it's probably the electronic thermostat that is faulty.
They quoted him R6k!
He just needs second opinions to see if it's that which is the problem...

Warranty would, if the car was unmodified. So VW can tell him GFA if they wanted toKeshan_G wrote:Doesn't warranty cover this?Kam19 wrote:He did take it to VW, they say it's probably the electronic thermostat that is faulty.

Since its an electronic thermostat, would it not show as a fault if the car was plugged in with VCDS?

Re: Urgent assistance on G7 GTI heat gauge
Hi Guys
I am having the same problem with my 2015 model GTI.
The complete thermostat and water pump was replaced last year due to leak, is it possible that problem could have come back so soon(mileage around 40000 since last year)?
Appreciate the advice.
