Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
Hi all, myself and a friend want to wire up my dicktator 60-2 and module to my AGU motor installed into a mk2 golf, the main problem we have is that it is not very clear as to where the wiring must go. For example the dicktator wants 3 wires to go to TPS but the AGU throttle body has a 7 wires so how on earth do I know which 3 connect to? The coils and injectors are also very unclear and to connect up the dicktator to ignition module is not very straight forward. Does anyone have some advice or detailed diagrams or some crib notes for me please. Thanks for your time.

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
Is wiring colours the same as this?
Throttle Body
Connector: Black (6 pin)
1: Purple with red stripe
2: Green with purple stripe
3: Red with purple stripe
4: Purple with red stripe
5: Brown with purple stripe
6: Grey with brown stripe
Check this with a multimeter first before you wire it up.
1:Bottom left on the flat side of connector
Pin 1 5v tach ref
2:Top left on the flat side of connector
Pin 2 Signal
Pin 3 Earth
Wiring harnass explained:

Are you using coils with 3 pins or 4 pins on the plugs? 3 Pin type is external trigger and 4 pin internal trigger type coils.
Note: There are 3 differnet types of coils for the 20VT and you need to confirm the ones you have by measureing the pinouts on the plug.
3 Pin (058 905 105):
15 : 12v or ignition
4a: Ground
1: Trigger from ECU
4 Pin:
Pin 4: 12v or ignition
Pin 1 and 3: Ground
Pin 2: Trigger from ECU

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
The injectors are really straight forward.
The dictator harnass has a relay that is switched on by the management when the engine runs. It is meant for the fuel pump.
Form that same output you take a lead to the one side of all the injectors. Does jot matter which side but it must be at least the same for all of them, so a common power.
Then you pair 1,4 together and 2,3 together and these pairs go to the two injector wires (brown usually) on the dictator.
Then do you have the wasted spark or two input to 4 output ignition module from dictator?
Your coils should be 3 pin on that motor. Do you have the plugs or a piece of harnass at least that goes to those coils?
The tps is a 8 wire affair. You will see the plug is numbered
1 3 5 7
2 4 6 8
You will use 5,7,8
7 is signal ground or ve-
5 is the 5v reference And 8 is the tps signal.
Or you might have to swop the last 2 if the signal goes the wrong direction.

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
Thanks for the great advise guys, ill have a look asap. My TPS is a 8 pin plug with number 6 not used, my coils are 3 pin. Injectors and coils are still wired into the original AGU loom that runs down near the oil filter and cut off there so the idea was to tap into the wiring there to keep original wiring to injectors and coils.
Yes I got the 7 pin dicktator module marked as below.
Pin1-Ignition 1 (this will be input, but which wire from dicktator?)
Pin2-Coil 1 (to coil)
Pin3-Coil 4 (to coil)
Pin4-Engine ground (to ground)
Pin5-Coil 3 (to coil)
Pin6-Coil 2 (to coil)
Pin7-Ignition 2 (this will be input, but which wire from dicktator?)
Thanks again for your time.

Pin2-Coil 1 (to coil)

Pin4-Engine ground (to ground)

Pin6-Coil 2 (to coil)
Pin7-Ignition 2 (this will be input, but which wire from dicktator?)ignition2 yellow green. Pin 16.

So for the injectors you will find a common wire that all the injectors share the same side pin with. Put you switched 12+ there.
Then you will find each injector has another wire that is not shared in the loom. You will then pair that 1,4 together onto pin 20 and 2,3 paired onto pin 19.
So tps pin 7 goes to pin 10 black
Tps pin 5 goes to pin 14 red/white
Tps pin 8 goes to pin 3 blue grey

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
Thanks Panic, you saved me.
Can dicktator pin 18 (blue) be used on this throttle body on the AGU motor or will it idle without it?

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
You can
So on the tps plug pin 1 gets 12v switched and pin 2 goes to the idle control.
It will not idle without either idel control or by manually opening the throttle plate.
Most guys tap a thread in the stop and hold it open with a bolt rather than use the idle control.
You don't have to be most guys.

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
Managed to wire up everything last night but couldn't attempt to fire it as i had the wrong cable. Apparently i need the 9 pin serial cable. Will this cable plug into the serial to usb adapter and function?

Yes it will work, but is a **** to get it to work. Have to change comport settings, ect.
Have a look at his thread and hopefully it helps.

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
So I tried everything last night and no luck, even found an old driver and it didn’t work. Tried to roll back to previous software – no luck. I think it’s windows 10 that’s the problem, there is a greater chance ill get it done with a typewriter than trying it this way. I will get an old PC today that has the older 9 pin male port and hopefully that will work.

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
I suspect it's win 10. I use a older pc with win7 and the serial cable and it works just fine.
So once you checked in hardware for which com port you assigned and put that into the dicktator it normally connects just fine.

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
Number of cylinders must be 4. Also MaP must be scaled to 2 or 3 bar. I'm not sure on the ignition divide for running 4 coils, but try with ignition divide by 2.

Re: Wiring a Dicktator 60-2 on an AGU engine
I don't have bud. If I had a laptop and get it connected, no problem, but don't have anything to connect it. The current map I have not was setup by my tuner. If you were close by, I would let you connect to my Dictator and save the map so you can use it as a startup. Won't be to sure if it would work as I have higher fuel pressure, adjustable FPR & 440cc injectors.

Ok no worries thanks Robz. Am I right in saying that once I entered these values in it should fire up? Is this what they refer to as a Base map?
