1.8T pre-delete paranoia
Ok, plan is to finally do my deletes tomorrow. Have the kit from FSU and have a decent diy, looks simple enough.
Problem is i do not want to deal with a constant CEL or the car running too rich/lean once i remove these things. I also dont want to do software yet so coding it out is not an option.
Considering doing just the sai delete, and leaving the n249/n112 in place if possible, but at the same time i will be changing my tappet cover gasket so will be moving the n249 anyways and might as well remove it. Some stick with them being necessary while others say they are just unecessary complications.
The car is stock and has no issues aside from the noisy sai pump so i dont want to krap and then sit with issues.
I dont want to do evap delete or fit oil catch can after this either.
Also have the 2.0t conduit but not sure if that fits with n249 in place
Therapist needed please

Re: 1.8T pre-delete paranoia
Delete everything, it won't throw a CEL. Keep the original bits in a box. Replace when you sell. That's what I've done.

What Andy said. Delete it all. Having that mess out of the bay makes diagnosing leaks and other faults much easier.

Re: 1.8T pre-delete paranoia
Was dead set to delete everything, but doing all this reading has left me heavy confused. I will lose my mind if i had to deal with random cel's popping up i would rather deal with a noisy pump then lol.
Will definitely keep all parts together if i take everything off.

Re: 1.8T pre-delete paranoia
All 3, No CEL. Did THANAS' deletes as well, no CEL, did mine, no CEL, and then another 10-12 other cars as well, no CEL.
That's just feedback from my side.

Shot guys, feeling more at ease moving forward with operation delete now.
Did you guys use insolation tape to secure/seal the resistors or just plug them in and leave open?

It was just over 12 hours of ownership . And it's lucky I did because the SAI hoses were torn to pieces, the PCV hoses were ruptured, even the brake booster vac line had 2 tears in it and was leaking at the booster. So removing the old rubber pipes and replacing the brake booster line with strong silicone and fresh check valves was a great help toward a smooth idle and responsive brakes.
I also installed the catch-can from the Jetta, routed back into the PRV for a 'stock' setup.
tl;dr
DO THE DELETES, WTF STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS FFS MAN
Also throw that sh1t away afterwards, you're not going to want to put it all back and 99% of buyers either won't be able to tell the difference or will be glad it's done.
