Mechanic Recommendation-Ford Figo

Post by Lodewyk »

Good day gents,

As the topic states I'm looking for a recommendation for a mechanic in the East Rand to solve an issue on a ford Figo 1.4N/A duratec.

The issue arises when starting when the vehicle is cold, a general engine fault warning pops up on the dash and rpm is limited to around 1500rpm. If you leave the vehicle to idle for a few minutes and switch off and on it goes away and the car drives normally.

I have taken the car for a diagnostic scan and after identifying the error as air pressure sensor related, I changed the sensor but the issue remains.

I'm looking for a mechanic that can diagnose and solve the issue and preferably do it within a few days time as the vehicle is used to travel to work and back.

I appreciate your recommendations.

Hi Lodi, speak to Yosh from Dark Artz. He is based in the east and should be able to assist.

Hey Bud,

My wife had a Figo some years ago and also had a very similar issue on hers. It was under warranty and they had replaced the TB for the issue to go away.

I cannot remember clearly the finer details but I do know it wouldn't rev up once a while when started therefore the TB was replaced. Hopefully that gives you some direction with regards to the issue you having.

Thanks for the replies, I have booked the car in at Dtec today and hopefully they can resolve the issue. I will have a look at the throttle body as a possible culprit thank you

Just some feedback, Dtech replaced the map sensor was hell expensive but the problem still persists. Starting the car and manually revving it a bit seems to solve the issue though
