Requirements to turbo 1.6i efi jetta
Good day. I have recently purchased a mk3 jetta with a 1.6i feul injection (engine code afx). It already has a metal intake manifold. What would I need to do before I turbo. I'm planning on running 1 ti 1.2 barr boost max, not trying to make crazy horsepower or torque.

Short version, do a 20VT swap it's cheaper.
Long version: full engine rebuild for Rods and pistons. Stock will not hold more than 0.6 bar. U- flow motor also makes packaging of the turbo into the engine bay very difficult, the drivers side driveshaft is in the way. None of the stock fuel system is adequate for a turbo application.
