Hi guys just want to find out I'm driving a vw Touran 1.4 TSI
I've did a service just a normal service. Plugs.. Filters etc
Ever so since I have a engine light thats blinking
Car jerks under demand like full throttle
I've had a dignostic done and says I have a random / multiple cylinder miss fire
Another fault
Cylinder 1 and 4 misfire detected
Then after another drive says cylinder 2 and 3
Checked plugs and coils is fine
Now EPC light comes on with a full misfire
And a engine fault check workshop
Someone told me that you can only use vw plugs and not bosch
Is this true or will I be wasting money
Thanks plz let me know

Re: Vw Touran spark plugs
This sounds like your coil packs are problematic common problem.
Can be that a coil pack was damaged when taking them out the replace plugs.

Re: Vw Touran spark plugs
coil packs are a common issue on them. You can just replace. But make sure you did not unplug a vaccum hose or something in the air system dureing the service as well.

Re: Vw Touran spark plugs
Did you check that the spark plugs all have the correct gapping, also are the coil packs inserted all the way onto the spark plugs and are the wiring harnesses clipped all the way onto the coil packs.Reedo wrote:Hi guys just want to find out I'm driving a vw Touran 1.4 TSI

Re: Vw Touran spark plugs
Hi guys
Yes made sure no vacuum pipes was removed
Been through almost everything but still the same problem
Also made sure coil packs is inserted properly
I'm thinking of buying the vw plugs..
Just thinking that immediately after the service the engine light was blinking and problem started
And asking myself no filter can do this.. No oil change can do this but perhaps spark plugs..
Spoke to Goldwagen another branch not roodepoort who sold me the bosch plugs..
One guy says he had the same car and could only use vw or NGK plugs as apparently the NGK plugs come with vw stamps and has a O. E PART number while bosch does not
Meaning they did not approve the bosch
He claims that he had a similar issue where bosch plugs did not work
So far I've got two people stating the same thing so I guess I'm going to cough out that 1098.00 rand and buy the original and atleast rule out one thing that could be the problem
Thanks guys appreciate the info and will update tomorrow
