Front Wheel bearings
Hi all,
I'm in the process of doing the front wheel bearings on the VW jetta mk2.
I'd like to know what is a good brand of wheel bearings to go for and where I can get it?
And then I'd like to know if someone knows a mechanic that knows their stuff to just press the bearings on as I don't have a press.

Re: Front Wheel bearings
As far as I'm concerned, my go-to brands for reputable, reliable bearings are SKF, **** and INA.
I'd probably start at Goldwagen, but any bearing supplier should be able to get them, if you have the bearing code.
SKF (head office is in Boksburg), Bearings International (****), Bearing Man Group / BMG, Bearing Agent, etc...
Edit: F.A.G. is being censored by the board...

Re: Front Wheel bearings
Meyle is a well-trusted aftermarket supplier in Germany. But I would be surprised if they actually manufacture the bearings themselves. They might well buy from another manufacturer, so for my part, while I have a lot of trust in Meyle as a brand, I would perhaps just check who actually made that bearing.

Re: Front Wheel bearings
Considering the German TUV standards that Meyle has to stick to and they are very strict standards and get quality checked regularly and if not up to scratch, the TUV will throw toys out the cot and throw the cot itself.
I seriously doubt Meyle will use any sub standard parts suppliers for things like bearings.

Re: Front Wheel bearings
Thanks guys, much appreciated.
I'm going to see what I can find tomorrow at most of the above mentioned and maybe even make the purchase.
If someone still has any idea where I can get these bearings pressed in I would really appreciate it.
