Good day guys
I have a '85 golf 2 kjet and I am completely at my wit's end with this thing, idling is rough, power seems very wrong and top speed is like 140. All this started after the below listed fixes.
List of what has been done:
1.Main ends failed - bottom end was redone with new bearings etc.
2. Head gasket blew and head cracked - welded up and redone(not sure about cam followers, valves & valve seals)
3.injector lines broke - had new ones made, replaced injector seals as well
4. Had stalling issues - both fuel pumps replaced, coil replaced, dizzy replaced, plug leads replaced.
Issues I know of:
1.The infamous kjet cold start issue
2.kjet fuel distributor seals probably need replacing.(wasn't an issue before)
3.wiring is a mess, previous owners cut and pasted as they felt fit(wasn't an issue before) - fixing/replacing as I can.
If anyone can maybe start pointing me in directions that would help.

If you could get the car to Benoni, I reccomend to take it to Panic's place.llewellyn.xavier wrote:Edited sorry based in Pretoria East work in Centurion

The man is truly a tuning genius and knows K-Jet well.

Re: Golf 2 k-jetronic help
I thought of that but I think Panic might have a heart attack when he sees the state of the car.
It stood for 6 years on a plot and before that was owned by a guy who did things like cut wires that were in his way and only replaced parts that the engine NEEDED to run

Re: Golf 2 k-jetronic help
Actually if someone could just point me in the direction of fixing the lack of torque that would be a start, planning on taking the engine out soon.

Re: Golf 2 k-jetronic help
There could be soo many things causing a lack of torque and those can be timinh, cam and ignition, air leaks on thenk-jet etc etc. sadly parts for k-jet has become now basically impossible to find so generally if there is an issue on something like the fuel distributor or wur you find another or go efi.
