Ignition timing

Hi guys

My caddy bakkie feels abit sliggish, want
To check timing but my timing mark jumps around on the timing light

It has a AGG motor in but carburator, i remove the vacuum pipe from the dizzy and still the same, with pipe fitted to dizzy still the
Same, it has one of those GW carburators one fitted

Did you jet the carb for the 2L motor?

I had a ADY with a GW carb and it drove great. Verify the timing physically. Mine was also sluggish at first but I was out a tooth on the distributor. Fixed that and it pulled much better

What Year model, almost sound like it has a MP9 ecu running timing?
is the caddy's idling stable when checking?

The carb is standard, was straight fit, no jets done, car was running fine but why is my timing light jumping around when checking with timing light

Apologies, meant timing mark jumping around

So problem is lying at my distributor
