Golf 4 AKL 1.6 8V

Post by Mk4Lover »

Hi guys..

I've got a 2002 Mk4 1.6 SR which I've recently restored..I've fitted a 50mm performance exhaust and a k&n flat pan filter.. I never really got to enjoy this cos she seems grossly underpowered..feels like the cam timing is off..as it never felt right after the cam which is stock.. was replaced.. can you guys help with the tell tale signs of the cam timing going off please?

Did you mark all timing marks and installed on the same timing marks when cam was replaced?

I would start by checking that all the timing marks are where they are supposed to be.
