2006 Velo Golf 1.4 i immobilizer/remote problem
Hi everyone.
I am battling to start a 1.4i Velo Golf. The Fuel pump is working, and I have spark. The dash lights show it is reading the key chip (the light with the key and the car dissappears when the ignition is turned on). The remote on the key however is not registering, and I keep getting a flashing red bell on the rev counter. My guess is the shurlok alarm system is still keeping it immobilized. The car was bought as a fixer-upper project. So we only got one key and no manuals. Is there a way to reprogram the remote? Also if you think it might be something else, please help with any advice. Thanks in advance!!

Re: 2006 Velo Golf 1.4 i immobilizer/remote problem
Thanks for the reply. I got a re-synchronization sequence for the remotes from a friend who also drives a Velo. I noticed it states that the vehicle should be unlocked. Does this mean the alarm should be deactivated before synchronization can commence? Also I am not getting the 5 flashes on the transmitter pilot light as described in the sequence. Should it be the key remote, would I be able to buy just the remote part of the shelf and sync it with the shurlok system?

Hi there, do you mind sharing what that re - synchronisation sequence is?
With my car the key does not work the alarm anymore. Car starts, but button on the remote do not work anymore.
I'm thinking I'll have to get it recoded
Thanks

Re: 2006 Velo Golf 1.4 i immobilizer/remote problem
I found the procedure in the user-manual (duh!!!)
Unlock the car.
Switch the ignition on and then off in less than 5 seconds.
Leave the key in the ignition and hold the unlock button.
Press the lock button 3 times and release both buttons at the same time.
Do this in under 10 seconds.
The remote light will flash 5 times and the car will lock and unlock itself.
