Hi guys
I have a VW crafter with the BJM engine and long gearbox, 5th gear sheared off. Mileage is around 480KM
I can't find a gearbox to fit it. And if I do, its exorbitantly expensive - R30k to R40k.
Can i fit a short box instead and change propshaft? Does anyone know what I can do to get a reasonably priced gearbox?
Repairing is a no go as the gearbox guys that I took it to, said that 3rd gear is also damaged and we cannot get the gears to replace them and that will also be expensive.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Crafter gearbox woes
Mb Sprinter same thing change the bell housing.
R30 - R40k sounds like the right price. If you lucky there might be a used one for 20ish if you look under rocks and hidey holes.
