turbo changes

Post by Mr.G24 »

Hi

I have a 1.9 tdi Jetta 5 bxe motor with a garret turbo, not sure the model code or size, is there another turbo either in the vw range or aftermarket that is bigger that I can just bolt on without having to do any modifications to the standard stock downpipe or manifold.

surely software will have to be done after fitment I guess.

who on the forum has done this to their 1.9 tdi Jetta 5's, fitting a bigger turbo?

thanks

@Carel040, thanks for the reply - I want to go Bigger turbo with software, but I don't want to do all the mods that you get when changing to a different or bigger turbo, and I have heard that there are stock options that is bigger than that I currently have on, but is just bolt on, no mods needed. I need to know which turbos those are with model numbers etc.

I'm in Port Elizabeth

Then your best bet will be a bv39 that comes off a polo 1.9 tdi sport line very reliable turbo can handle up to 1.5 bar boost Image

@Carel040, thanks for the feedback and this will be a plug and play turbo? I guess it will be bigger than my stock 1.9tdi turbo that is on my 1.9 tdi bxe jetta 5 which delivers 77kw.

awesome, so straight fit to existing plumbing and just bolts on in the place of my stock turbo, what a pleasure, should be an easy swop as well I think.

thanks so much, will try and source a 96kw sportline 1.9 tdi polo turbo

hello, just a question, does the downpipe on a 96 kw tdi sportline polo fastens with a v clamp to the stock bv39b turbo or does it get bolted on the stock bv39b turbo?
my downpipe gets fastened with a v clamp to my stock garret turbo and i'm looking at the bv39b turbo as a direct replacement for my stock turbo on my 1.9 tdi jetta 5 BXE motor.

just need to know this fact before I can start to look for a bv39b turbo.

thanks
