Intercooler turbo hose pipe clamp T5 kombi

Post by SechabaP »

Good day members.

Is there an alternative or suggestion of how to tighten the intercooler turbo pipe hose clamp on a T5 1.9 kombi?

I bought new clamps but the pipe keeps disconnecting everytime i accelerate.

Any ideas?

Are the clamps the snap one type?

They don't usually pop out, check those triangle nubs that stick out of the boost pipe just behind the seal, those can wear out and cause it to pop out constantly.

Another thing you can do, if it's attached to the intercooler, buy a silicone pipe slightly bigger, slide it on, tighten on the boost pipe(just right enough so it sits right against the metal but does not squeeze the rubber part) and add another clamp to the other side of the sleeve where the plastic part of the intercooler sits, that should hold it.
