Turbo leaking oil

Post by NiKHiL_POWER_GT »

Good day.
I am a new TDi owner.
Never owned a turbo or diesel vehicle.
Found an oil leak on the floor.
Took it to a mech. Pulled out the boost pip going to the intercooler.
It had a lot of oil in there.
Below the turbo lots of oil everywe.
Mech says its sweating but in a few months from now maybe 2021 need to recon the turbo.
He also says due to software. It will always happen.

Looking for Advice and suggestions

This happens regardless of software. Also don't wait for 2021, sooner is better, like very sooner.

It's more to do with driver technique. Do some reading on proper turbo care and driving style, learning those habits will save you loads of money.

Get the turbo rebuilt and have the carbon in the inlet manifold cleaned out at the same time. If you like a few extra ponies, have the turbo modified (hybrid) and get it tuned for the extra puff.

FMIC is a worthwhile upgrade while it's all in pieces.
