Thanx boet, appreciate it.

I have just sent him an message to get clarity on this. I know he did my dad's 3.0 D4D just remapping, and there was somewhat of a big change in performance

Ask him what he will set the requested boost to. No point in pushing it so hard, just to get numbers when it is still your daily.

Start a rides thread and let us know how it goes.

Well as to what he said is:

Will take out the CAT, do the software for the CAT and sort out the EGR and he will do a stage 1 update on software for R3500.

Is a CAT and DPF the same thing? Just different names from petrol to diesel?
Bargain, if your engine does not explode! As Big Mig said, RK is a very good option when it comes to sooters, theyve built one or two.

It always boils down to you get what you pay for. I would also not tune a car without a dyno run, not that its the be all and end all but will at least give some sort of indication what the car does under load.

Ok got confirmation.

He removes the DPF and CAT, blanks off the EGR and does a stage 1 software update. That is de codding the DPF and CAT and EGR.

The 134kw is at the flywheel, and he said at the wheels it will be close to 100 if maybe not a fraction more. Torque will be 410NM

He also said if I want to, I can do a full straight pipe and Stage 2 and the figures will be better, but then I start to push the limits of the parts etc. Then it is upgrade of Turbo, injectors etc.

Will keep you guys posted on the progress

134 is still a very high number roughly 70% more, especially if it is "stage 1". I don't believe in stages for tdi stock turbos. Its either a little bit, mild or full blown peri peri.

There is about a 10% loss when going from fly power to wheel power. If you take that into account and based off his number you will land up seeing roughly 120 Kw at the wheels.

I just hope you are not doing this with a car under warranty. If so - remember if something goes boom they will deny all your claims.
If you have warranty and maintenance do ONLY a file for power.

@Panic none of the above. Just extended warranty as the car already has 143000km on it
