Hi Guys,
I need some advice please.
What size battery would my 07' Ibiza FR take?
Everyone and many online battery sites recommend 652.
i called VW and they said that's too big and 628 or 646 is recommended as its OEM.
Also, what brand would be best?
Any assistance would be much appreciated

Re: Ibiza FR Battery Size
My first thoughts as well, I thought to myself that a 646/ 652 sounds about the right size for that car.
Btw, thee FR is a 1.9tdi motor?

I would have thought 652, I am sure I used a 652 in my 9n Polo Sportline and use a 628 in my MkI Golf GLS.

Re: Ibiza FR Battery Size
646 came with the 1.4.and 1.6 Seat Ibiza's.

All the others came with a 652.
Get a Varta battery if you can.

628 is a small battery for that motor, not sure what vw is smoking here with that advice.

Re: Ibiza FR Battery Size
i also thought that the aspirated cars would take the smaller battery and the 652 for the boosted cars.
however, when i called VW Durban. Gave the lady my vin. She said 628/646. abit puzzling.
ill check around for a varta. not that mobile atm
