Ibiza FR (96KW) engine oil. 5w30 or 5w40?

Post by CoalWorld23 »

Sup Gentz,

Any advice on a good oil for an IBIZA FR (BLT engine code - 96kw)?

I hear alot bout the Liqui Moly Toptec 4100. I had Motul X Clean in my old S/l.

Is 5w30 oil or 5w40 oil better for these motors or is this a silly question?

I only use 4100, and 99.99999% of people i've spoken to feel the same.
It is an ingenius solution to a problem that should have never existed in the 1st place...

The only difference between a 5W30 and 5W40 is the viscosity at 100 Deg C with the 5W30 being a 'thinner' oil. Stick to whatever viscosity is recommended in your user manual.

That is the specification, I remember Shell Helix Diesel HX7-AV 5w30 in my 9n Polo.
