Golf SV 2.0 TDI Comfortline DSG

Post by ijs2806 »

Hi everyone, I am new here and have never owned a VW before but looking to buy a 2016 Golf SV 2.0 TDI Comfortline DSG with 38,000 km on the clock. I would really appreciate any advice I can get from people who know these vehicles.

Some questions I have. Are there any common problems with these engines, the DSG gearbox or anything else I should be aware of or look out for that might cost me in the future? Are they expensive to maintain? Also, are these vehicles popular (the SV option specifically) with a decent resale value or am I likely to battle to sell it in 3 or 4 years time with 100,000 - 120,000 km on the clock?

Thanks.

Solid engine. DSG needs an oil and filter change at 60000km. With such low mileage you shouldn't have any issues BUT the SV is not popular, if you need a large(ish) people mover, maybe Caddy is a better bet.
Ex:
'09 Mk5 GTI DSG(My definition of happiness)
'02 Polo Classic 1.6
'98 Fiesta 1.3(Ford, never again)
'90 Sentra 1.3

Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely take a look at the Caddy.
