MK1 GOLF WITH 2.0L AGG

Post by cknickelbein »

Hi guys, I wonder if anyone would be of help here.

I have a 1.3 chico golf with the 2.0 8valve motor conversion done that I have been fixing up.
The car is done now but its the clutch giving problems, as usual.
Clutch has been redone 3 times and each time changed ,adjustment to amount of free play, having the correct amount obviously, on clutch pedal has been done.

It was fine for the first 2 months, and atm moment it started to slip in 5th again when put under load....
The cars flywheel has been lightened for less weight, has gas flowed head, running on spitronics, has branch and free flow...

When I took it on the dyno the other day, that's when we found out clutch was slipping when you load the car.

I don't know if there is any heavy duty clutches available for them, because im tired of changing clutch all the time because I know it shouldn't slip so soon...

Something has to be the cause...

it has a 5 speed gearbox and yes, each time I change the clutch I redo all the seals as well...
I did read a blog of someone saying that you have to use genuine vw seals too though...

Any help would be appreciated, other than the clutch giving a bit of trouble , she is running beautifully. And is still clean.https://www.vwclub.co.za/forum/posting. ... =post&f=87#

I presume you changed the clutch kit to the larger 210mm size?
