Polo classic 16 model 2000 heat gauge

The heat gauge of my Polo only takes long before it come up and stays on 50

Change the thermostat, most likely stuck open

What are the symptoms in slow traffic, especially in hot weather?
If the gauge still doesn't come up, then the problem is most likely the coolant temperature sensor on the cylinder head / flange.
