Clay cloth/mitt

Anyone use one of these new clay cloths or mitts?
What experience did you have?

I need new clay, and these clay cloths look interesting. I like the fact they will probably last longer than a clay bar and can be a time saver.
However, I've looked through a couple of product reviews on Amazon, etc, and there are number of indications that the rubber-like ("clay") compound can smudge onto the paint. I can't tell if that's from not soaking the product long enough and/or not using a decent lubricant or that the product itself is junk. Of course there are more positive reviews than negatives, which could be a good thing as people tend to complain more than compliment.

So any experience or feedback with them?

I have no experience with it, but from some videos i've seen.
I just don't like the idea of it. Are you going to be 100% sure that once you've rinsed it all the particles are going to be removed and you won't re transfer it to the surface and possibly cause scratches?

I'm not confident of that fact. So I'll rather stretch bend and fold that bad boy old school clay bar and toss it for a new one when needed.

Spray painting is more expensive than clay.

Similar thoughts for me.
Also will still need a regular clay bar for areas the mitt or cloth can't reach.

The more I look at these the more they look like simple latex-coated cloth. Nanoclay is a thing (even being used in tyres it seems), but I just have this feeling that a lot of these are simple latex-coated cloth.

I think I'll give them a skip for now. R200 for a bar of clay, R400+ for a cloth/mitt. I can see the advantage in a shop with volume though.

I use the Nanoskin autoscrub and they are great but you need alot of lube and need to be careful when using them as they can marr the paint. They make quick work of highly contamintated paint which clay bars struggle to do you also get alot out of the autoscrub and could possibly decontaminate 8 or so cars from one scrub. Clay in the other hand is great but you still need to be careful and use enough lube when using it .. still great for decontamination and maintance details.

Thank you for the feedback.

I did notice that most of the mitts/cloths absorb a lot of the lube.
Where did you get the nanoskin from locally?
