VW has paint protection product as per the pic, is it any good?

They probably using another company to carry out such work on their premises.
So they will charge for it and make a mark up.

I don’t think sun is a necessity, you’ll probably spot the trails with ambient lighting in the undercover parking where this “paint protection” gets done :troll:

As everyone has already said, its probably getting done through someone else, hopefully a legit detailer...cause it most probably will be an arm and a leg and taken the fact that it may be added onto the finance + plus interest :crazy:
