Silver polo shine

Post by Deeps30 »

Hi all.
I've recently bought a new polo 2018 silver and want to know the best way to make it pop

I have washed it, clayed it in areas needed, did not compound , polish and waxed it all with meguiars Ultimate and one coat of each item
Should I add another coat of wax and then fast finish
Or am I missing something
All done by hand and only meguiars products was used including the clothes

Hi Bud,

I would do this by as I see you doing it by hand :

1. Get 3 buskets (1. Soapy Water, 2. Cleaning rinsing Water, 3. Washing Rims), the Rim & other 2 buckets must NEVER get mixed
2. Use a good PH Neutral Shampoo - Car Chem is good band for buck ( the Meg's one you have is also good)
3. Good Drying towels (different ones for door jams, different ones for paint & interior) - the Meg's one you have is also good
4. Get a Good Wax/Sealant

With the above this would answer you question :

1. Wash & Dry
2. Iron X & Clay, if you don't have Iron X its fine just clay
3. Polish using your Meguiars Ultimate Compound(This is a compound, which means it should not be used as dedicated wax/Sealant, as every time you use it, this will eat into your current clear coat which is not good), try and get a dedicated Wax/Sealant for this option. Reason why I say this is cause the generally waxes don't really last that long, max about 3/4weeks depending on your washing technic's.
4. Seal with a dedicated Wax/Sealant.

Then you just maintain your car with washing and sealing it when necessary.

all the above can be bought from Crazydetailer store if needed
