Actually I do have one question about detailing...

What foamer(to remove dirt) do you guys use cause there is no way I get that amount of foam...

I am also forever trying to keep it save by adding MY OPINION before I get my head bitten off by someone misunderstanding

I use the cannon sold by our forum sponsor - Crazy Detailer. I have also in the past used the MTM Hydro. Both work very similarly IME.

As you increase the pressure through the cannon, so you are forcing the 'aeration' of the snowfoam product to increase and so it comes out more thick / shaving cream like.... so a more powerful HP washer will definitely aid in this.... I definitely saw an increase in the foaming ability using the Karcher K7 over the K3 I had before.

Also, the type of snowfoam you use may influence the thickness too.... for example some are designed to be less foamy and more runny and others more foamy and less runny.

Please remember to budget for enough pads to use with the machine.

One of the biggest mistakes I see guys who are getting into polishing make, is expecting they can polish a car with 1 pad - believe me, not only will your results be crap, but you will probably kill the pad mid-detail.

Here is a great article on the subject...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask ... y-car.html

Personally, I typically use a bit more than what Mike recommends in this thread... pretty much double amount in fact...

Tripod light stand for sale/swap (Yellow ones)

I bought it, and a week after, someone gave me another for free that was standing around at their shop.

I paid R690 for it, so a good offer or swap for something you have floating around

Anybody has a semi decent da polisher for sale. I am not going to do this for a living, just need to be able to at least polish sections of a car that was repainted. I have a couple of issue on 3 of my cars that require painting which I can do decently enough but it's always thenpolishing after that is currently letting me down.
Just have a normal rotating polisher which does not do an very good job.

Gents

I would like to get a value for the kit I have that I am thinking of getting rid of as I do not make use of it.

1 x Shield DA polisher with 1 x 5.5" backing plate and 1 x 2.5" backing plate I think, its the smaller one.
1 x menzerna white 6" pad (rough)
1 x lake country orange 6" pad (medium)
1 x lake country black 6" pad (soft)
3 x 2.5" orange pads the DA polisher came with (medium)
1 x lake country cyan 2.5" pad (soft)
1 x lake country yellow 2.5" pad (rough)
Menzerna FG 400, about 3/4 left
Meguiars Ultimate Compound, about 1/2 left
Meguiars endurance tyre gel, about 1/2 left
Meguiars gold glass carnuba wax, almost full
Auto finesse Iron out, about half
Meguiars ultimate liquid wax, dont think I have opened it
10 or more MF towels
1 x new waffle weave drying towel
1 x new crazy detailer wash mitt
2 x buckets for wash and rinse.
Clay bars with quick detailer spray

I think that's it. I would say a good kits for someone to maintain their own vehicles?
I know I cannot recoup every last cent, but would like to get something back from my investment in the setup.
There will probably be a few things I have not listed that will go with the setup.

Thanks
