Rsi huntered wrote: Tue Oct 09, 2018 9:27 am Hi Guys,

So I need something to use on for removing the sponge like piece that is under the rear number plate holder on my car......

I cant post pic's cause I don't have an account anymore but if I were to explain were it is :

When you remove the rear holder the number plate holder comes off and underneath the holder there is a soft sponge thing stuck to avoid rattle im assuming(this is what I want off), I pealed it off BUT the part that is stuck on body work is still there and the outer came off :bang: :bang: :bang:

What can I get from Crazy detailer that will help remove as safe as possible....

Thanks
Grab some plastic razor blades to carefully scrape away the bulk of it. http://www.crazydetailer.co.za/index.ph ... ts_id=1449
Then get some tar and glue remover and a quality MF towel to remove the rest of the glue residue. http://www.crazydetailer.co.za/index.ph ... ucts_id=58 and http://www.crazydetailer.co.za/index.ph ... x&cPath=20
Thank Lawrence.

Can I use anything to make it soft prior to scraping it off with the plastic blade(water/apc....etc?)
Some heat usually helps sticky stuff to release easier....

But a trick is to take some cotton wool pads/discs from the Mrs (or your own metrosexual face cleansing stash #notjudging) and saturate it with some tar remover and then stick that to the area.

That way you increase contact/dwell time and let the product soften up the residue reducing the need to 'scrape'

Hi Gents!

I recently bought a 'molten orange' Fiesta ST, with dirty seats. Its a common occurrence in the fiestas...

What would be the best way to tackle the seats? I am planning on spraying APC onto the seats, agitating with a brush and wiping away with a microfibre towel. Followed by using my wet/dry vac to remove any excess water. Can I repeat this step until the seats look clean/uniform?

ALSO;

What would be a good 'starter wax' to invest in? I will get the car corrected next year, but for now I need a post wash wax/sealant? Recommendations from CrazyDetails store welcome, since I am already picking up some basic car care goodies from them.

Got a whole goodie bag (or rather bucket) at Crazy Detailer. Car is looking fresh and clean now. All waxed up with collinite 845. Seats washed and interior cleaned and dressed with some water based dressing.

Next weekend its the carpets, boot and engine bay. Then all that was the previous owner would be washed away.

Any tips for really stubborn stains on light grey seats?

I cleaned the STs seats properly and the water that came out was extremely dirty. Although there are still some stain remnants.

I was told Vanish 02 works well... But not too sure if I really want to spray that onto the car seats.

+1 for the Collinite 845. For the price, ease of application and how little you use per application it's very worth it.

We did 2 fiesta STs and I dropped the bottle. Less than 1cm out... Win win win!

Hozit guys,

Since i got my 1er, it has had a couple of scratches in the paint thats not that deep, surface scratches. I have tried using my simple shield orbital polisher with some cheap compound polish but it seems the BMW paint is quiet hard.

Any idea what i can use to either hand polish or perhaps use the orbital polisher to just get the scratches out or lighter.

With the car being a dark colour, the scratches can be seen easily when close to the car and it grinds my nuts!

The shield polisher should get the job done, you just need a pad like a scholl purple spider and a compound like menzerna 400, carpro clearcut, megs 105 etc

I think he meant the shield one that you buy from games for 299 bucks   that thing is not good enough to even apply wax   had it and gave it away..

you will Need the proper detailing machines or if you dont send it to a detailer.

other option but this wont take out the scratches but merely make the paint look better, Autoglym hand polish will work fine. you ca get this from Crazydetail

Hi, This has probably been asked somewhere before, But what hand polish is best to use to polish your car with?

Diamond guard, McGuire's Auto glym?

If you say McGuire's please list which one as they have such a big range I do not know what to use.

Sorry if this is posted on the wrong place but seems like the most relevant topic.

Thanx

Morning gents. Thanks again for all the great advise, my black car and I are indebted.
Anyway, I've seen this low cost DA at CD, Torkcraft for 1k. Would it be worth the investment to correct a few moderate swirls or should i just keep going by hand? I've only got about 2 or 3 months to go till i cover the rest of the car by hand
Using Ultimate compound and Ultimate polish. Already decontiminated with the tips I learned here ( clay + iron x)
