Hi guys, I have a Golf 4 and I was thinking of buying a vw oem bluetooth radio (single din) from, say, a Polo vivo previous gen. Would that work? Or even a double din from later vw models? I don't need voice commands or steering controls, nothing fancy, just Bluetooth connectivity and all my speakers working. I only play my music via Bluetooth so won't really need a CD player. Has anyone tried it? Anything to keep in mind/avoid? I would like a vw radio to keep it looking as oem as possible while upgrading and adding Bluetooth. Thank you! I will attach pics of what units I have in mind.

Re: Retrofitting an oem bluetooth radio on a Golf 4
Hi
Is the mount the same for the m4 as the later models?
I recon plugs should be the same/similar or adaptable and seeing that steering controls is not an issue it should be easier to install as well.
Just make sure the head unit you het has Bluetooth built in as some have it as a seperate module to the radio.

Thank you for the info, I figured if it's a single din it should fit without too many hassles, hoping its kind of a universal fittheunis.visser wrote:Hi

Re: Retrofitting an oem bluetooth radio on a Golf 4
I replaced the OEM radio in my Mk3.5 Cabrio with one of those bluetooth units and it was a straight plug out and plug in. Granted, the MK3.5 only has a single din space but the existing plug from 2001 fit straight in.
Reckon you shouldn't have issues with swap.

HI
I replaced the jetta 4's radio with a double din polo vivo radio.
Works a charm and the blue tooth works nice.
Plug and play, just remember to get the radio code with, or you can get it on ebay for a small price
