2020 Polo vivo 1.4 trendline rear door speakers

Post by Arnoldtp »

Hi guys. Just bought the wife the 2020 polo vivo trendline, and didn't realise that their is no rear speakers in the doors.
Can I simply open the rear door panels and install speakers or would there be rewiring needed?

A serious rewiring will be needed. you can install the speaker but the problem is that they might not work.

A serious rewiring? I can't see how. What I have found is usually the wires are there, there just are no speakers, but in the case that the wires are not, it would just be a case of running wires from the radio till those pods, nothing serious about that. Can be done by the owner if he is comfortable to do so or taken to any reputable sound place to do.

I would start by checking if the wires are already there and confirming what size speakers to get and take it from there.

Hi Arnoldtp how far did you get with this? Was there pre-installed wiring at the rear already? I have a 2019 Vivo and might like to do the same. Regards

Hi Guys, I also have a 2019 Vivo Trend BUT I would firstly like to find out if the standard fitted radio supports the extra speakers for the back doors and then the also form amplifier output for fitting a sub?
If not: What EXECT size and or radio tipe should I buy if I had to replace the standard one?
Sorry......but I'm not really cluedup when it comes to I.C.E units.

Heyy, I also bought one, and I went to VW and asked them… they told me that they wouldn’t have a problem putting them in, unless I use VW speakers…

I bought a 2021 Vivo Trend 1.4 last year. My sister has a 2019 Comfortline and it does not have speakers in the rear doors either.
There is nothing major about it. The salesmen who sold me the car even told me it wont affect the warranty.
Took it to city car sound in Pretoria and had them fit a set of pioneer speakers. Paid R280 for the speakers and R200 fitment if I remember correctly.

To get the best out of it though I would suggest taking their amp and sub upgrade for R3500.
