Golf 7 Radio

Post by VW MAN »

Hi Guys

I need a fix for this please. So my car's radio has a sd card reader/port in the cubby. Now it will play and work fine but switch the ignition off and restart the car, it resets to the first song on the sd card.

Most annoying thing to me.

How do we fix this this?

An Sd card is not flash memory like a USB, they lose there memory when power is switched off that is why it resets to the first song.

What do you mean? SD card memory is non-volatile. Otherwise it would wipe the whole card each time it was removed?

Sorry sir got it wrong my bad, today is one of those days, You are correct a SD card is non - volatile, then it has to be the SD card reader that resets when power is off. :?

This was a simple coding fix although vw replaced the control unit. The radio codes to the control unit so that had to be done. All fine now.
