VW Radio Codes

Post by Ahmed2018 »

Just spoke to the workshop manager of VW stealership in Braamfontein regarding the radio codes for a VW Polo. The workshop manger (Leon) advised that they are unable to supply a radio code without having the physical vehicle present.
I wanted to buy the radio from an accident damaged VW that was written off. Leon says that the radio is no longer usable as they need to pug into the vehicle to retrieve the code.

Apparently this change was made to their systems since December 2018. Anyone else know if this is true?

I had this same issue with my S3 last year. They weren't Audi wasn't willing to give me the code over the phone. Needed to have the car there physically to plug it into the VAS and retrieve the code.

They do this because of the theft of radios and to safeguard themselves
