Standard Audi Concert radio USB/iPod reader

Post by Pik Sooter »

Hi guys,

I have seen something similar to the below being used in older BMW's, believe it was by Denison or something.

Anyhoe, I recently purchased a 2012 Audi TT Roadster with the Audi Concert radio, which BTW sounds pretty damn good all things considered, good base, good clarity etc. The only issue, it has no USB/iPod/iPhone reader, it has bluetooth fitted, but can only be used for phone calls sadly.
I was doing some research and found this online:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car-Dig ... 11926.html
AND
https://www.ebay.com/itm/DENSION-Gatewa ... 2044745615
AND
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xcarlink-MP3 ... 2214845280

EDIT: See this as well being recommend, has bluetooth so the iPod can connect via that medium, bu doesn't offer charging capability:
https://www.amazon.com/Bovee-Wireless-B ... 1_1&sr=8-1

1: Will this work with the radio? I don't see any model year mentioned, only 12Pin output
2: Can I buy something like this locally? If so, where?

I understand this will most likely deactivate the CD player, but who has CD's their car these days?
I don't want to fit an aftermarket radio, I quite like the look the OEM unit, it fits well with the interior and bangs quite well, just wish it had more functionality.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would hunt for anaftermarket head unit.
I have been struggling with my concert as of late. My ipod adaptor decided it had enough of my bad taste in music and died on me. So because this is a really old platform there are no really nice features. I have had to resort to listing to my old cds and even the radio. :puke:

I have been doing some research on aftermarket and there is a lot of nice decent options out there. A decent few also have that OEM look which I desperately want. The added benefit of aftermarket would be the rca outputs which I can then get rid of my splice job and run proper RCA’s to my audison.

I know this post was a bit off topic but you also want to look down the line if ever the need comes up.

1. Dension gateway should work on your Concert radio.
2. You can get it with all other things at Vagtec

There are plenty aftermarket radios for your car which look like your OEM unit and they are plug and play and have more functions at a fraction of the price compared to original items. Look around and decide whats best for you. Good luck

Those are for the older radios

You need one that uses this plug. I have one working(Bought from ebday) on my Concert radio that came out of a 2010 Audi a3.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-USB-MP3-In ... :rk:7:pf:0

I bought the wrong one, But just changed the plug and it worked on the new Radio.
Actualy was te correct one for my radio but I upgraded radio to the newer concert radio out of a 2010 model and had to modify it.
Radio picks up the dongle as a cd changer. Cant see track names or anything.

Plug should be for Quadlock Plug.

My B7 A4 has a Grom unit fitted. USB, iPod and bluetooth integration with the OEM headunit + steering wheel controls...worth a look IMO
