What to do next... 2l 8v

Hello ladies and gentlemen. I'm seeking some advice on what to do next. I have a velo with a 2l 8v ady motor in. Have a k&n flatbed filter, 1box powerflow exhaust 50-57 and a 276 estas cam running with a polocup ECU. I was at the track tonight and I jumped away from b20 vtecs, runx rsi's, 20v in a mk1, twincams, rxi's, fn2's, turbocharged abf in a mk1. So I'm more than happy with how the car launches. 1st,2nd and 3rd is lovely. But a lot of them(not all) pass me at about 320-360 meters. What can I do to gain some power at around end of 3rd and 4th. I just want to be quick on the 400m strip. After 400m I don't really care. I don't want to loose bottom end because I see that as an advantage. If there's something that I can do to gain more at the bottom so that they don't close on top I'll be happy as well. Thank you, your advice is always much appreciated.

Oh yes another thing is that I'd like the amount of money spent to justify the gains. I don't want to spend 3-5k to gain 1-2 kw. Thanks, I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts

You could consider changing gearbox with a gearbox with different ratios than your current gearbox. What code gearbox do you have installed now? Not sure where and when you change now on current gearbox over the 400m stretch. Close ratio box or a box with a longer 3rd gear might be the answer.

Can go bigger cam but as you said don't want to loose bottom bottom end , can stroke the motor to aid the loss at the bottom.

another option would be a standalone management and tune for more power in the higher rev range and a higher rev limiter but then you need to log and twerk for optimum power , Stock heads are good for 7k rpm's , my bro had his stock head at 7.2k but dropped a valve

Headwork and you'll be able to rev higher but then you'll need supporting mods.

This is your problem.

You have lots of traction and launch well and this is good.

Your motor is performing well and makes good torque, this is also good.

Where you are having a problem is you are not turning all that torque into top speed which why you get passed at +/- 350m mark.

Look into gear ratios and speak to some gearbox specialists in your area.

In the East Rand a good place to start is 8V Performance.

Hey Papa, I'm currently running a ffz gearbox. I change to 4th at about 350m

Hi, the current box I'm using revs until 7800rpm but I make power until 5800.

Headwork as in port and polish?

On a serious note. How much will that work out to?

And will the engine be able to handle it? Being completely stock besides the cam?

If you do 50hp shot of nos you would need a ECU to help with fueling.

I would rather spend the money on head work and new ECU. To gain
