Post by Sashoz »

Hi im sharshlin. I love vw especially golf's. I myself own a citi.com currently building it. Looking for what required for a short shift as well as a strong powerful engine recommendation

Regarding engines, you say you want something powerful, which is awesome.

The real question is how big (or small) is your budget?

I can build you a 1000HP methanol fed, fire breathing monster that will bolt into your Citi golf, but it costs big money and will render the car useless on anything other than a drag strip.

Or you can read the rides and technical sections and see what works for the other builds on the forum. There are many recipes that could meet your power needs, so it really depends on you and what your idea of powerful is.

Also remember what you intend to do with the car once it's finished and what it will cost you to drive.

Some good advice to help you on your way:

1. Don't build what you can buy
2. Performance upgrade rule of thumb, 1HP gain costs +/- R1000 on average
3. Dickheads with a laptop are not tuners. Check you facts before parting with money.
